I've been a baking enthusiast since I was a little girl, and molasses cookies are a big favorite of mine. I always bake cookies from scratch, so I was skeptical about trying Betty Crocker's new Molasses Cookie Mix. The preparation was pretty simple - just combine the package of cookie mix, a stick of butter, an egg, and a tablespoon of water in a bowl, and mix until combined (I used my Kitchenaid mixer). You can drop spoonfuls of dough onto cookie sheets, or roll them in sugar (I used raw sugar for a great crunch) then bake.
I have to say I was pleasantly surprised at how good the cookies tasted. They were so good, in fact, that I had to give them to my youngest daughter so I wouldn't eat way too many of them! She took them to her older sister's house for a football viewing party, where they were gobbled up in no time. When they asked me for the recipe, they were shocked to find out that a) their mother had baked cookies from a mix, and b) those yummy cookies came from a mix?
